“White Gold: Blue” is inspired by traditional cobalt decorated china tableware and my travels to once colonial India and the country’s associations with tea and the teacup. The title references the extreme value of porcelain objects and production methods in eighteenth century Europe and touches on issues of socio-economic class. This print installation includes 100s of screen printed cut paper shapes made to resemble classic cobalt china tableware and hung to create a pattern on the wall like the elaborate porcelain rooms of the 1800’s.
