Fiestaware

A Haviland & Colagiovanni production, this series of large digital photographs and video works navigates the Homer Laughlin china factory’s dump, which employees refer to as Sparkle Mountain. The Homer Laughlin factory is located in Newell, West Virginia and is the only location in the world that Fiestaware china is produced. Fiestaware is an ongoing series of works that hopes to capture the beauty of this dump over the course of a number of years and seasons. It was started with funding from a Ohio University College of Fine Arts Creative Research Award and Haviland’s 2015 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award.
